Getting Started
Hey everyone. Since our daughter is going to school in North Carolina, our plan this year is to get back there and visit her. So....the bike is on a truck to Atlanta, where we will fly in on June 13, and pick it up. First few days will be a visit to Durham NC, then a few days at Top Sail beach with Doris Sister's family. We will be leaving there on June 20, and hitting the road. What direction we go first will depend on weather etc, but we hope to make a swing down to Key West, up the west coast of Florida then NW to Memphis or Nashville, and hit the tail of the Dragon on the way back to Durham. http://tailofthedragon.com/ TAIL OF THE DRAGON AT DEALS GAP , with 318 curves in 11 miles, is America's number one motorcycle car road. The nearby CHEROHALA SKYWAY is quickly becoming number two with its remote 60 miles of scenic mountain highway. We also want to make a loop north to Philly, Gettysburg, and back down the Blue Ridge Parkway. This first post is kind of a test, but I hope
