July 18 - Dixon - Wisconsin - Iowa - Rochester Minn

Thanks for the Bed, Washer and Dryer, Meals and for showing us around town.

Today we went from Dixon Ill to Rochester Minn through the far soutwest corner of Wisconsin and across North East Iowa.





I saw several signs for this store..and thought it a bit strange

Between Hanover and Galena the GPS told us to get off the hwy and take BlackJack road..Never would have found it but it was 15 miles of very nice Motorcycle Road....Actually I was surprised how Northwest Illinois and NE Iowa had a lot of nice riding.

The elevation hear was around 600 feet. Not much for as far as the river has to go to get to the mouth.

Sure there's lots of corn, but at least the road wasn't flat and straight.

We rode up to Birmingham yesterday, We met up with a couple I've met through PGR James and Gail Davis and had a real nice breakfast and visit in Mirianna Florida on the way. Wish we had remembered to get a picture. Doris found this sign amusing....It is referring to a series of speed bumps. I saw another sign that made me laugh..In the Florida Panhandle... "Lights on And Wipers When Raining" Doris picked up a new pen last week When we saw it she new she had to have it. We ate at this place last night...the first BBQ we have had on the trip...but it beats any of the places back home that call themselves BBQ. Thats It. We were headed to Memphis, but changed out mind and went straight to Nashville, and traded Memphis for an extra day in the Mountains on the Tenn/NC Border. Pics from Nashville later or tomorrow. J&D

July 20 - Across North Dakota....all the way across

Fargo to Bismark Bismark to Glendive MT We did about 400 miles today our longest day so far. Landscape just leaving Fargo There was a detour on the route to the freeway onramp. Apparently in ND Detours expect you to have an all terrain motorcycle. There were several mudholes, and we slid around a bit but staid clean Later we saw this wind turban blade on a truck entering the freeway and passed it later on. You have no idea how big these are until your right next to them I think North Dakota has almost as much "Big Sky" as Montana A Metal Mural of a flight of geese Think the wind affected the growth of this tree? The last 70 miles westbound through ND the land starts to change Probably about 3 days to home Jeff

JUNE 22, St Augustine to Hollywood Fl

Doris is getting really good at taking pictures as we roll along Just a few pics today...the camera batteries died in the middle of the day, and a lot of freeway riding as we put on 334 miles today from St Augustine to Hollywood Fl. This first is a pic along A1A south of St Augustine. Riding Shadow Getting Close to Daytona Beach Daytona Beach is one big stretch of big hotels...with (based on the signs) a lot of vacancies. We went about 30 miles out of our way to stop by the Space Center visitor center...Didnt want any tours, just to walk through the center..$41 each, so we got this pic and hit the road and here is where the camera quit. That's it for a short update for today...Tomorrow Key West
