June 20

Back on the road today we went from Top Sail south to Charleston SC, and
wandered around Charleston for a while this afternoon.

We rode through one of these brightly colored weather events today.
There was a black cloud in front of us, and I came around a corner and saw a veil across the road. We stopped and quickly put the GPS in the saddle bag, and put on the seat cover. Didnt have time for our rain gear, but probably wouldnt have put it on anyway. The rain only lasted for a couple of miles, but my arms and upper body were soaked to the skin after the first quarter mile.

Doris took some pics from the bike today after the storm. This is a swamp in the charleston area.

Pic I took of the bike while Doris was in the visitor center in Charleston, SC.

One of the churches in Charleston.
We took a trip out to Fort Moultrie and the Fort Sumter memorial
A pic doris took while we were crossing a tall bridge between Mt Pleasant and Charlseton.
Tomorrow we are headed toward Florida hoping to get to St. Augustine and spend some time in the old part of the city in the afternoon.
Thats it for today.
